Allentown Auto Dealers Discuss Costs of Driving

allentown autoDespite the economic downturn and lower gas prices, a recent report compiled by AA shows that the cost of driving is basically the same in 2009 as it was in 2008. For instance, if you are driving a sedan 15,000 a year from your Doylestown area Honda dealer, you may expect to pay about $8,000 a year for gas, maintenance, insurance and other costs associated with automobiles. In 2009, that cost is going to stay about the same, give or take a few dollars. On average, you may expect to pay roughly 55 cents per mile.

On the other hand, if you are driving your SUV, your savings may increase. Between 2008 and 2009, the cost of owning an SUV dropped by more than 1.3 per mile. That makes the average cost per mile about 68 cents.

One of the reasons that costs have not gone down despite the lower gas prices is due to the higher prices to meet fuel economy standards in the industry. “While motorists are experiencing relief at the pump,” said AAA Automotive Vice President Marshall L. Doney, “those savings have been countered by revised Environmental Protection Agency fuel economy estimates and increases in vehicle ownership costs such as insurance premiums, depreciation, finance charges and other fees and taxes. ”

Honda Puts Focus on Value

njIt’s no secret that you can get great value for your money when you purchase a new or certified used car at your Lansdale area Honda dealer. But Honda is placing even greater emphasis on the value you get when you go to your Honda dealer and purchase a vehicle.

Instead of tooting its own horn, Honda is running ads that direct consumers to go to Edmunds.com and read the reviews of Honda products. The company feels that this will give its “Honda Values” campaign more credibility because the website is a third-party source with no affiliation to any manufacturer. The TV ads began running today.

“It was an opportunity to recognize the intelligence of car shoppers and the way they shop and the process they were going through,” commented Gregory Smith, an official at the Honda ad agency. “It seems a little more intelligent and transparent than the typical call to action.”

The new ads focus on three Honda models – the Pilot, Accord and Odyssey. The ads typically begin with a voiceover asking the viewer a question about Honda’s vehicles and then the voice tells the consumer to research them on Edmunds.com for an “independent report.” They will be running during popular shows like CSI, The Amazing Race and Dancing with the Stars.

PA Dealers Ask: Should Immigrants Have Licenses?

honda carsSince it has been a topic in the news lately, your PA dealers want to know what you think about giving illegal immigrants (or undocumented citizens, depending on your political affiliation) licenses to drive legally.

This particular story discusses one person from Puebla, Mexico. He worked in the orchards of Washington for several years and drove legally with a driver’s license issued to him by the state. However, when he moved to New Jersey a few years ago, he was unable to transfer his license because New Jersey prohibits giving licenses to undocumented residents. Unfortunately, this is a growing problem in many states and there are heated debates on both sides of the issue.

“We may be undocumented, but we invest a lot into this country,” said Alejandro Chavez, the man discussed in the story. Now that he lives in New Jersey, he has to pay $10 each day to get a ride to work.

That’s why Governor Jon Corzine has convened a panel to recommend that New Jersey start extending legal driving privileges to illegal immigrants. If it goes through in The Garden State, it may spread into Pennsylvania and other New England states as well.

For those workers who may get newfound driving privileges, your Pottstown area Honda dealer is ready to welcome you into their facility to offer you a new or certified used vehicle. Check them out today!

PA Dealers Say New Honda Ad is Impressive

honda dealersIt gets harder and harder to impress consumers these days. However, your PA dealers are certain that the new commercial for the Insight – one of the newest and most buzz-worthy Honda cars on the market – is going to garner some attention.

The new commercial for these hybrids looks as though hundreds of Honda cars are parked in the desert and they rhythmically shine their headlights to create shapes and animations. The animations go from a smiley face to hearts to the new symbol for the Insight hybrid.

Much like the viral “electric sheep” commercial that circulated around the Internet, however, nobody is really sure if these Honda cars in the ad are real and electronically linked together or if it is simply computer animation. Regardless of if it is real or not, the commercial is certainly attention-grabbing and serves its purpose of making people talk about it. Once people talk about the ad, they start talking about the product in the ad, which is the Honda Insight in this case.

You can vie the ad here. Once you see it, you will want to visit your Lansdale area Honda dealer and see what the fuss is about with the new Insight hybrid. You are in for a pleasant surprise.

PA Dealers Discuss Three Benefits of Leasing

pa dealersYour PA dealers know that buying a car can be a tough decision. But add the option of leasing in there and the process may be a little less overwhelming. Here are three benefits that you can enjoy if you decide to lease your next car.

1. Lease payments are less than purchase payments. When leasing, you are mainly paying for the depreciation of the vehicle while you have it in your possession. As a result, the monthly payments are much less because you are not paying for the entire value of the car.

2. You get a new car more often. Leasing gives you the option of taking your car back to the dealer at the end of the lease period and leasing another brand new model. If you enjoy the newest and latest features on your vehicles, leasing is a less expensive way to do so.

3. Leases require less of a down payment. Leases are often more affordable because you do not need to put down a huge down payment. Sometimes you may not even need a down payment at all!

With all of these advantages, why not visit your Pottstown area Honda dealer and look into leasing the car of your dreams?

Honda Goes the Extra Green Mile

honda dealersAutomakers all over the world are trying to create greener vehicles to keep up with consumer demand. But only one of those companies is actually a leader in green technology in its cars, its manufacturing process and in everything else it does. That company is Honda.

Honda doesn’t stop at creating fuel-efficient vehicles. The automaker also takes pride in its “Green Factories” and its “Green Buildings” throughout North America. With these, Honda plans to “increase energy efficiency, reduce waste and enhance recycling activities at all North American plants, buildings and factories.” Most of the automaker’s plants in North America already comply with third-party ISO 14001 certifications because they have reduced landfill waste by about 17 percent just in 2007.

In addition to that, Honda also has a “Green Purchasing” program. With this program, Honda encourages its more than 600 parts suppliers to “go green” by reducing packaging waste and becoming more energy-efficient in producing the materials that it manufactures.

With its dedication to the environment and efficiency, why not show your support by visiting your Lansdale area Honda dealer? You can be a greener person just be getting behind the wheel of a new Honda car!

PA Dealers Welcome Lottery Winners

new carsIf you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do with the money? Your PA dealers hope buying a new car would be on you list of things to do with your winnings. And we welcome the ten coworkers in New Jersey who are sharing a jackpot of $216 million.

The ten coworkers worked together at an insurance company. They won the March 3 drawing and proudly showed the winning tickets to their other coworkers at the Chubb Insurance office in Whitehouse Station. They officially claimed their prize last Friday, according to New Jersey Lottery officials. They chose the cash option, meaning they will share a prize of about $140 million before taxes.

The Singin Oil store in Toms River was the place where they bought the winning ticket. Taner Cetintas, the owner of the store, will also receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

In all, they will each end up with roughly $10 million. That’s plenty of money for them to visit their Honda dealer near Pottstown and plunk down cash money for the car or cars that catch their eyes. What better way to enjoy your winnings than behind the wheel of a car that you own free and clear?

Get Tax Benefits for Buying Green Honda Cars

honda dealersThe title of this post does not refer to the color of Honda cars that you buy, but rather their fuel efficiency.

The House of Representative began looking at a bill today that would give car buyers between $3,000 and $5,000 in incentives to give up their old cars (at least eight years old) and purchase a new fuel-efficient vehicle. The bill is Rep. Betty Sutton’s idea and it is designed to help lower-income buyers purchase cars that get at least 27 miles per gallon on the highway as evaluated by the EPA. The amount of the voucher would depend on the number of miles per gallon the purchased vehicle could get. In addition, people who take mass transportation could also receive $3,000 in vouchers for trading in an old vehicle.

“This legislation will help consumers, stimulate our economy, improve our environment, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and help our domestic auto and related industries, upon which millions of American families depend upon for employment,” explained Sutton.

If the bill passes, why not use your voucher toward the purchase of a new Honda Insight or one of the many other models at your Doylestown area Honda dealer? We have a number of cars that meet or exceed the EPA’s recommended mileage and we’ll be happy to take your trade-ins as well.
