The new Toyota Tundra is going to be an exciting new offering from the largest automaker in the world. What is going to make it more exciting, you ask? The fact that these Toyota trucks are going to be available in a hybrid version makes this an exciting new product!
According to this current Toyota Tundra owner, the current gas-powered version is already his favorite vehicle and he simply cannot wait until the more efficient version hits dealer lots across the country.
Unfortunately, the hybrid version of the Toyota Tundra may not be available until 2013 or 2014. Although details are few and rumors are rampant, those in “the know” think Toyota wants to make the Tundra a lithium-powered truck. That may be one reason why these Toyota trucks will not be available for a few years because of the delay in lithium batteries.
The new Tundra will feature a number of features to make it more efficient, such as a 4.7L V8 engine with 400 horsepower combined with a hybrid system that achieves 20 miles to the gallon in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. It will also be more lightweight to make it more efficient. Few other changes have been finalized. Either way, it’s going to be an exciting release when it finally gets produced!
