The new Prius, which should be available at your Conshohocken area Toyota dealer in the spring, has several improvements over previous generations. One of the main improvements involves the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive system, which engineers redesigned to give the Prius a reduced size and weight. This is just one reason the new Prius gets better gas mileage than previous incarnations.
In addition to better gas mileage, the new Toyota Hybrid Prius has a sportier style than previous generations. This makes it more aerodynamic and makes the car quieter during operation. The new style also makes the new Prius longer, adding more room to the interior and added comfort for passengers.
Despite growing competition in the hybrid market, Toyota officials are confident that the new 50-mpg Prius will stay on top. “Since Prius was first introduced, the consumer demographic has shifted from an early adopter to a mainstream shopper,” said Bob Carter, Toyota Division group VP and general manager. “The Prius has evolved to meet the changing needs of this growing and diverse customer base,” he continued.
